I’m an only child, born into a very hardworking blue collar family in Buffalo, New York. When I was 18, I landed a full ride scholarship to UNC-Chapel Hill, becoming the first person in my family to go to university. I studied Mandarin Chinese and International Relations (yes, I speak 3 languages), falling in love with foreign languages and cultures far away from my humble roots in upstate NY.
In college, I worked in NGOs in places like Guatemala and Egypt, backpacked through Southeast Asia during my summers, and got research grants to study at foreign universities in China, South Korea, and Singapore.
My first job was on Wall Street as one of the top rising management consultants at IBM Financial Services… but part of me still felt like I was missing out on something important by working in New York City.

Yes, Old Life Elaina was suited up in blazers and heels. She signed $100,000 contracts with presidents of countries and CEOs of top multinational companies all over Africa, Asia, and South America. She later worked as an International City Launcher at Uber in Mexico and Australia.
Two years in, I made the bold decision to leave and take my dream job (AT THE TIME) TRAVELING THE WORLD AS A PROJECT MANAGER, LIVING INTERNATIONALLY FULL-TIME IN COUNTRIES LIKE ETHIOPIA, NIGERIA, QATAR, SOUTH AFRICA, AND MONGOLIA.

And then, BAM! I had an awakening.
I discovered an utter lack of motivation for working for someone else as a tiny part of a huge company, and not long after, I self-sabotaged, got FIRED from Uber, and was sent straight back home to Buffalo the next day. Ouch. And also, thank God.
At 27, I took it as a sign to start traveling the world on a solo mission to explore my true passions in personal development and spirituality – and figure out how I could make a living outside of the 9 to 5. I quit drinking alcohol, lived in an ashram in India for several months while studying yoga and meditation, became a Reiki Master, and traveled solo across Burma, Nepal, and all of Europe and Southeast Asia for over two years.
I funded my travels by working as a freelance writer, blogger, and part-time coach online, helping others make bold career transitions like I did when I left IBM to work in Africa. But because I had no strategy behind what I was doing, I barely brought in a few thousand dollars per month. It was enough to get by as a “digital nomad”, but it was no career.
In 2018, I finally decided to make my home in Bali, unsure of how to combine my old life as a New York City management consultant and my new life as a full time location-independent entrepreneur. I didn’t even resonate with that word yet. I never knew any “entrepreneurs” growing up and all the ones I was exposed to in college worked on tech startups in San Francisco, and I also didn’t want that life.
Shortly after moving to Bali and tiring of pretending to run my “business” — which functioned more like a hobby than a sustainable way to make a living outside the 9-5 – I met a woman who was making serious money online as a mentor, strategist, and actual business owner.
Inspired, I hired her to be my business coach with every last dollar I had (and even got a second job to pay her), and 10xed that $15,000 investment in less than a year.
I LEARNED THE SECRET TO MY MAGIC WAS BRIDGING THE WORLDS OF BUSINESS STRATEGY, MARKETING AND SALES, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND ENERGETICS IN ORDER TO SERVE VISIONARY ENTREPRENEURS WHO NEEDED TO THE GROUNDING AND EXECUTION TO EARN MILLIONS FROM THEIR PURPOSE WORK.
